Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal

Hello friends! How is it already the end of March!? It is still cold and dreary here so I have been craving lots of hot oatmeal. I love peppermint anytime of year and have paired it with mocha to create the Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal.

Life has been super crazy lately. Which is why I haven’t been present here much. My work has had crazy deadlines. I enjoy it so much and have been having fun with the project I am working on. On the other hand, I do wish I had a better work life balance and less stress. The great news is this Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal comes together super quick for a hearty breakfast which is perfect for busy lives.

I love that this warm bowl of coziness comes together super fast in the mornings. The espresso powder gives a nice morning pick me up. The cacao is packed with antioxidants.  The peppermint adds a refreshing flavor. The fiber in the oats help keep me full throughout the morning. I usually eat this with whatever nuts I have around as well. They add protein and healthy fat.

Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal This Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal would also make a great snack. I am a snack queen. I usually eat breakfast between 6 and 7am so I need a snack to make it to lunch around noon time. Are you a snacker? What is your favorite snack. My go to morning snack is usually just some fruit.

Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal
A warm bowl of coziness with with cacao for antioxidants, oats for fiber, and espresso powder for a pick me up.
Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Old Fashion Oats
  • 1 scant cup Water
  • 1 tsp Espresso Powder
  • 1 tbsp Cacao Powder or Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Honey *or more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Peppermint Extract

  • 1/2 cup Old Fashion Oats
  • 1 scant cup Water
  • 1 tsp Espresso Powder
  • 1 tbsp Cacao Powder or Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Honey *or more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Peppermint Extract
Peppermint Mocha Oatmeal
Instructions
  1. Cook the oats with the water in a pan on the stove according to the package directions.
  2. When the oats are almost done stir in the espresso powder and the cacao powder until they dissolve completely.
  3. Remove from oats from the heat. Stir in the honey and peppermint extract. Taste and add more honey if needed.
