Chocolate Hazelnut Date Balls
A healthy sweet treat. Great for when you need quick little bite to tied over your hunger.
softened in hot water
ground hazelnuts, roasted or raw
or leftover ground hazel nuts from making hazelnut milk, dried in the oven
unsweetend cacao powder or cocoa powder
maple syrup (or honey if not virgin)
or more to taste
First, soften your dates in hot water for about 10 minutes. Then drain.
If using whole hazelnuts, pulse them in a food processor until a course meal forms and measure out 1 cup.
Add dates, ground hazelnuts, cacao powder, maple syrup, and salt to the food processor. Process until the ingredients are combined and a ball forms.
Roll into balls slightly smaller than a golf ball.
If desired, roll in additional ground hazelnuts or cacao powder.
Store in the fridge for about a week or in the freezer for several months.
